Shelby County standouts play in all-star lacrosse game

The Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Showcase featured several of the top high school lacrosse players in Shelby County in a boys’ and girls’ all-star contest May 22 at Hoover High School.

The boys’ roster included seven high school standouts from Shelby County schools.

David Sauers represented Oak Mountain in the all-star game. Charlie Lakin, Chris Sturma, Kyle Thurmond, Justin Kane, Baxter Knight and Max Hines represented Spain Park in the all-star game.

The girls’ roster featured 11 high school standouts from Shelby County schools.

Madi Brawley, Meg Merritt, Danielle Fairweather and Margaret Connolly each represented Spain Park in the game.

Oak Mountain was represented by Scarlett Stamps, Kendall Fann, M.K. Shealy, Christine Haley, Jacqueline Naro, Katherine Stewart and Kayce Swift in the all-star game.
