Lera Wills Williams

Statesboro, Ga.

Mrs. Lera Wills Williams, age 93, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. She had been a resident of Heritage Inn since April of 2006. Prior, she had lived most of her adult life in the south metropolitan area of Atlanta. She was born in Craigford (Randolph County), and lived her childhood in Shelby County, near John Lyons Hill.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Keith Barber of Statesboro, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Debria Williams of Forest Park, Ga.; three granddaughters, Meghan and Caitlin Barber, age 16, of Statesboro, Ga., and Donna Bond (Bryant) of Forest Park, Ga.; and also a great-granddaughter, Bryanna Bond, age 2, of Forest Park, Ga.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Epperson Wills; five sisters, Catherine Moore, Birdie Horton, Francis Davis, Velma Chamblee and Vera Fryer, all of Birmingham; and three brothers, Frank Wills, Alvin Wills and Johnny Wills. She is survived by a sister, Liddy Wills Fancher; nieces, Charlotte Prince, Della Fancher, Ann Moore and Joyce Wills; and nephews Jimmy Stone (Sandra) and Tommy Fancher (Chris).

Graveside services were held on Saturday, May 21 at Old Chapel Methodist Church cemetery, Wilsonville. Hodges-Moore Funeral Home of Statesboro, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
