Helena will hold its annual Independence Day celebration on July 2 from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Buck Creek Dam in the city’s old town section.

The celebration will feature U.S. Band and Carson James Sumpter on the Helena Amphitheater stage beginning at 6 p.m. More surprise musical acts may follow.

Immediately following the bands at 9:30 p.m., Helena will hold its annual fireworks show above the city.

Event organizers and vendors will be selling food and beverages, including adult beverages, throughout the celebration. Everyone who attends the event is encouraged to bring a chair or a blanket to sit on.

The free event is sponsored by Top it Off, Golden Rule Barbecue, Karen Ross Miller’s Allstate agency, VaraTech Solutions, Solid Civil Design and M1 Photography.
