The Pelham Police Department obtained a first-degree robbery warrant for a man officers say robbed a victim at gunpoint on June 16.

Matthew Patterson

The department obtained the warrant for 19-year-old Oxford resident Matthew Patterson on June 29, about a week after Pelham police said he pulled out a small semi-automatic pistol and robbed a victim in the parking lot of the BP gas station near the intersection of U.S. 31 and Alabama 119.

Police said Patterson stole “several hundred dollars” from the victim before fleeing the scene in a full-size, regular-cab pickup truck.

Patterson is currently incarcerated in the Bay County Jail in Panama City, Fla., where he was arrested June 28 and charged with robbing a person in the parking lot of the Burger King in Panama City Beach.
