Oak Mountain High School rising senior outfielder David Dahl has been selected to participate in the 2011 Perfect Game/Rawlings All-American game Aug. 14 at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif.

Dahl, who finished his junior season with a .449 batting average while homering twice and driving in 29 runs, is one of two Alabama natives on the East roster, which will face the West in a nationally televised game on the CBS College Sports Network.

Dahl, an Auburn University baseball commitment, will be joined by Hueytown rising senior Jameis Winston. Dahl and Winston are considered the top two prospects in the state of Alabama in the Class of 2012, according to the Perfectgame.org website.

Dahl participated in the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars last month in Cary, N.C. before leaving the exhibition midway through due to an illness. Dahl was leading all hitters in the tournament with a .714 batting average through the first two days of the event, including a 3-for-4 performance with two triples, two RBIs and two runs scored on the first day of action.
