Dear Editor,

I read with interest, June 22, the article of “ALFA Insurance Films Local commercial.” I was recently notified by phone that ALFA would not be renewing my homeowner policy, effective July 1, 2011. The reason given was due to the April storms.

During my 14 years with ALFA, I have never submitted a claim nor did I have any storm damage. As I reminded them of this fact, they informed me, “If we can insure your automobile, then we can reconsider.” I am curious just how many other insurers were given this same option. I am so pleased to see business going well for ALFA, and hope to see more commercials in the future.
