Joel Ray (Joe) Wood Sr., 51, of Alabaster passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father, James E. Wood; mother, Jane Taylor Malone; stepmother, Alva E. Wood; brother, Jerome Wood; and son, Joel R. Wood Jr. He is survived by his wife, Karen Albright Wood, Alabaster; son, Dallas Joe Wood, Alabaster; brothers, Edward “Lane” Wood, Childersburg and Randolph “Randy” K. Wood, Pelham; sisters, Debra Graham, Kellyton, Linda M. Sewell, Jackson’s Gap, Shirley J. Rainwater, Goodwater, Krista Wood and Janet Wood, both of Childersburg; stepdaughter, Stephanie Martin Pollard and husband Joey, Auburn; stepson, Adam Wilson Martin and wife Monica of Birmingham.

Visitation will be held at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Wednesday morning, July 27, 2011 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with procession to a graveside service at Harless Cemetery at 11 a.m. Bro.
