Wayne “Buck” Compton, age 75 of Calera passed away at his home on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011. Buck was a family man with great family values, and he had a great love for farming. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His survivors include his loving wife, Oneida Compton; daughter, Sandi Lovejoy (George); grandson, Lonnie Lovejoy, all of Calera; daughter, Debra Braddock of Wilsonville; brother, Billy Ray Compton (Jackie); sister, Barbara Hedgepath (George), both of Montevallo.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. for friends at Rockco’s Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Rockco’s Chapel, with burial to follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera. Bro. Bill Trawick and Bro. Bob Williams will officiate.
