Charles W.Weldon Jr., age 57, of Wilsonville departed this life peacefully with his family at his side at his residence in Fourmile on Aug. 19, 2011.

Before battling his long bout with cancer, Charles was a professional carpenter, pilot, musician, an outdoor enthusiast and avid hunter/ fisherman. He had a zest for life and never let his disease conquer his spirit. He will be joining his parents, Charles W. Weldon Sr. and Marella “Dean” Weldon, and brother, Robert P. Weldon. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Rachelle R. Weldon; son, Charles W. Weldon III; daughter-in-law, Stacy Weldon, all of Kansas City, Kan.; four granddaughters, Lauren M. Weldon, Veronica Gonzalez, Ashtin Carter and Adrienne Watkins; three grandsons, Richard A. Sanchez Jr., Andrew M. Weldon and Aiden J. Taylor; brothers, John A. Weldon and David D. Weldon; sister, Alyce Patton; and nephew, James R. Patton.

He invites all who knew him to celebrate his life at a memorial service at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana, Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at noon with Rev. Faye Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family will have a private graveside service following the memorial service. Bolton Funeral Home directing.
