Dean C. Burt, age 74, of Montevallo passed away on Aug. 19, 2011, at Bibb Medical Center. Dean was a banker, having spent 31 years with Merchants & Planters Bank of Montevallo, retiring as a vice-president, and also served several years at Regions Bank as a private banker. Dean was a member of Kingwood Church in Alabaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Annie L. Caffee, her husband, Ivery Burt and her brother, Billy Caffee. Her survivors include two sisters, Ruth Barton (James) of Centreville and Linda C. Shiller (Sam) of Tuscaloosa; nephew, Mike Barton (Kim) of Centreville; and niece, Jennifer Shiller Leonard (Russ) of Alabaster.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Rockco Chapel in Centreville with Rev. Mark Sims officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service; burial will follow in Pineland Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Vanosia Faison, MD, Robin Birchfield, CNP, and the Bibb Medical Center and Nursing Home staff.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Humane Society of Shelby County. Rockco Funeral Home Centreville is directing.
