Brandy Nicole Meeks, age 29, of Pelham, born on June 28, 1982 in Macon, Ga., passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Shelby Medical Center. She was an amazing poet whose words will one day inspire all that read them.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bartley C. Meeks. She is survived by her daughter, Layda M. Lee; her mother, Martha G. Messer; brothers, Travis Meeks (Shannon), Troy Meeks, Clay Bush (Tiffany) and Ryan Messer; and sister, Melissa Bush. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Bridge Point Church.
