Jaiden M. McDonald celebrated his first birthday on Sept. 17, 2011. He is the son of Portia M. Swift and Mario J. McDonald. His grandparents are Leona Swift of Alabaster, Derrick Manigault of Brooklyn, N.Y., Latonja Pope of Alabaster and Joe Nelson of Birmingham.

Jaiden celebrated with a sports-theme party. His great-grandparents, Louise Gordon of Birmingham and Johnny Swift of Florida, and his great-great-grandmother, Annie M. Nelms of Alabaster, attended.
