Montevallo men’s golfer to play for Mexican national team

University of Montevallo freshman Andres Morales, a member of the Falcons’ men’s golf team, was recently selected to compete for the Junior Mexican National Team at the Canadian International Junior Challenge Sept. 12-15 in Clearview, Ontario.

Morales is one of just four golfers selected from Mexico to compete. The event will take place at the OslerBrook Golf and Country Club.

The Canadian International Junior Challenge (CIJC), now in its fifth year, is one of the marquee events conducted by the Canadian Junior Golf Association and is the only multi-team international junior golf championship conducted in Canada. This highly recognized event was developed to provide elite junior golfers around the world the opportunity to compete in an international ranked event while experiencing Canadian culture in one of Canada’s finest regions.

Countries compete in a friendly, yet competitive, environment held at the highly decorated OslerBrook Golf Club, one Canada’s most prolific golf courses. The event allows for international growth and camaraderie between junior golfers and federations alike.
