Spain Park High School senior Brandon Hazouri posted a third-place finish Sept. 10 at the Chickasaw Trails at the Indian Mounds Park in Oakville.

The defending Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A champion came in two spots behind race winner Paul Stuart of Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) with his time of 15:55.08.

The Jaguars finished sixth in the Class 5A-6A boys’ team standings. Spain Park senior Steven Crain came in fifth in individual standings with his time of 16:28.42.

Oak Mountain came in 10th in the Class 5A-6A boys’ team standings. Senior Will Hamaker led the Eagles as he finished 26th in individual standings with his time of 17:09.95.

Chelsea finished 23rd in the Class 5A-6A boys’ team standings. Junior Alex Burdette led the Hornets with his time of 19:22.54, which placed him 149th in individual standings.

The Oak Mountain girls’ cross country team finished ninth in the Class 5A-6A girls’ team standings. Freshman Haley Davidson led the Eagles with her time of 20:24.94, which placed her 17th overall in individual standings.

Spain Park finished 17th in the Class 5A-6A girls’ team standings. Freshman Jessica Bilek came in 27th overall in individual standings with her time of 20:59.29.

Chelsea came in 23rd in the Class 5A-6A girls’ team standings. Freshman Katlyn Coley led the Hornets with her time of 23:27.40, which placed her 120th in individual team standings.
