Andrew J. “Bill” Blackerby, 97, of Montevallo died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, in Birmingham. He was born on Tuesday, March 3, 1914, in Shelby County, the son of the late William Blackerby and the late Janie Crane Blackerby. He was a retired truck driver.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty F. Stinson (George) of Alabaster and Darlene Killingsworth (Brad) of Montevallo; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Blackerby; daughter, Judy Thornton; and son, Jeff Blackerby.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at 11 am. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Earl Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in Thorsby Memory Gardens, Thorsby.
