Freeman Albert Isbell, age 92, of Montevallo passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, in Birmingham. Mr. Isbell was a longtime truck driver and member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay R. Isbell; father, Earl Isbell; mother, Lelia Isbell; brothers, Carl and Bill Isbell; sister, Margaret Dove; and daughters, Judy Wright, Shirley Marie Isbell, Joyce Saxton, Jackie Jacobs and Mary Jane.
His surviving relatives include a daughter, Jo Dawson (Rev. Stan) of Montevallo; sisters, Hazel Wright of Cahaba Heights and Mary Keef of Wilsonville; brother, Herbert Isbell of Alabaster; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 at Rockco’s Chapel from 6-7 p.m., followed by a service honoring his life at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, a graveside service will be held at the Forest Crest Cemetery-Irondale. Rev. Terry Palmer, Rev. Randy Keef and Rev. Stan Dawson will be officiating Mr. Freeman’s services.
