Panthers finish second in Chattanooga XC Festival

The Pelham High School girls’ cross country team finished in the Chattanooga XC Festival girls’ 5K race Sept. 24 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Mary Grace Strozier, an eighth-grader, led the Panthers as she finished second overall in individual standings with her time of 20:07.47.

Freshman Lesya Lackey came in 23rd overall with her time of 22:12.57. Teammate Maggie Porter, a sophomore, finished 29th overall with her time of 22:26.03.

Eighth-grader Claire Vaughn came in 36th overall with her time of 22:37.09. Freshman Samantha Hassen finished 39th overall with her time of 22:40.39.

Thompson came in eighth in the girls’ team standings at the event. Sophomore Anna Puckett led the Warriors as she finished 27th overall in individual standings with her time of 22:24.81.

Sophomore Erika Culp came in 40th overall with her time of 22:44.00. Junior Michaela Graber finished 43rd overall with her time of 22:48.40.

Pelham finished 11th in the boys’ 5K race team standings. Senior Mason Webber led the Panthers as he finished 28th overall with his time of 18:08.34.

Thompson came in 12th in the boys’ team standings. Senior Jordan Smith led the Warriors as he finished 49th overall in individual standings with his time of 18:46.44.
