Shelby County runner finishes second at TCBY Invitational

Fresh off an individual championship at the Scottsboro Invitational, Shelby County High School junior Jacqueline Head finished second in the TCBY Invitational 5K cross country race Sept. 24 at Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa.

Head completed the girls’ 5K race with a time of 18:42.93, which placed her less than a minute behind race winner Rachel Roberts of John Carroll Catholic. Head competed in the race as an individual.

Westminster School at Oak Mountain sophomore Morgan Reynolds, competing as an individual, finished 16th in individual standings with her time of 21:13.64.

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain boys’ cross country team finished seventh in team standings in the boys’ 5K race.

Junior Noah Thompson came in 48th overall in individual standings with his time of 19:01.26. Teammate Drew Parker, a junior, came in one spot behind in 49th overall with his time of 19:01.26.

Shelby County finished 14th in the boys’ team standings.

Sophomore Wally Morris finished 124th overall in individual standings with his time of 21:22.71.
