University of Montevallo senior midfielder Phil Jackson was named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week in men’s soccer Sept. 27.

Jackson had a goal and a pair of assists in the Falcons’ two wins this past week.

Jackson scored his goal against Concordia College at Selma, but he made his biggest contribution with two assists in a 2-1 victory over North Georgia College and State University.

Playing down a man for more than half the game, Jackson got his first assist just before halftime on a free kick. Jackson then assisted on the game-winner to break a tie on a cross with 25 minutes to go, handing the Saints their first conference loss.

The goal and the assists were his Jackson’s firsts of the year.

Jackson and the rest of the Falcons return to action Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. as they travel to the University of West Florida.
