Larry Gentry McCarley, age 73, of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011. Mr. McCarley was born in Alabama on Dec. 18, 1937, the son to Louie Gentry McCarley and Clara Bell Evans McCarley. He spent his career working for the county.

Mr. McCarley was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sherry Hollis McCarley and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louie McCarley. Survivors of Mr. McCarley include sister, Theresa Sellers (Kenneth) of Hueytown; brother, Milton L. McCarley (Melanie) of Vance; dear friends and caregivers, Imogene T. Porter and Abby Gail Barnette both of Shelby.

Services will be private. Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera.
