The Calera High School volleyball team defeated rival Shelby County 22-25, 27-25, 25-12, 25-15 in high school volleyball action Oct. 4.

A’Kia Harris led the Eagles (22-10) with 14 kills in the victory. Harris added six service aces and eight digs in the win.

Elizabeth Rhinehart added five kills, eight digs and four service aces. Caitlin Ryan posted five kills and four service aces. Amber Sherman finished with five kills and five digs.

Kellie Rasmussen, one of three seniors recognized before the match, registered a team-high 35 assists in the match. Ja’Maia White and Amber Jackson were also recognized on senior night.
