A pair of Spain Park High School football players have been selected to participate in the 2011 Alabama-Mississippi Classic all-star football game Dec. 10 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
Spain Park senior defensive back Chris Humes and senior offensive lineman Ben Tamburello were each named to the 40-man Alabama squad, which will face an all-star team from Mississippi in the 25th annual game.
Humes is in his third season as a starter for the Jaguars. The 6-foot-1, 195 pound safety currently holds scholarship offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, UAB and South Alabama.
Tamburello is in his second season as a starter at Spain Park. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound lineman made a verbal commitment Oct. 3 to play college football at Samford University.
