Montevallo ranked sixth in men’s soccer poll

The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team remains fifth in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll.

The region poll will help determine the six teams that will qualify for the postseason. Those top six teams will advance on to the Southeast Region tournament with the opportunity to advance to the national quarterfinals and then the Final Four, which will be held Dec. 1-3 at the University of West Florida.

The Falcons (9-3-4) were the second-highest ranked Peach Belt Conference team. Flagler College leads the conference teams at No. 3. Lander University came in at No. 7, while North Georgia and UNC-Pembroke rounded out the top 10 at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

Montevallo has just one game left in the regular season as the Falcons travel to Georgia Southwestern Saturday, Oct. 29 for a 2:30 p.m. match.

Coker College holds down the top spot with a 13-2 record against region competition. Anderson University follows in second, while Flagler is third.
