Falcons drop match against Saints

The University of Montevallo volleyball team dropped its second-straight match as the Falcons fell to Flagler College 3-0 in a Peach Belt Conference match Oct. 29.

Flagler swept the match 25-19, 25-21, 25-21. Montevallo struggled offensively as the Falcons hit just .133 as a team and ran into nine Flagler blocks.

Sophomore Manyi Ati led the Falcons (13-15 overall, 4-8 in Peach Belt Conference) with 13 kills, while sophomore Michelle Carle added seven kills and six digs.

Senior setter Anna Garrison came just shy of a double-double with 30 assists and nine digs. Senior libero Jessica Guidry led the team with 13 digs.

The Saints hit .274 as a team and had nine blocks. Flagler was led by Dianna Craine, who had 12 kills and eight digs.

The Falcons will return to action Friday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. as they travel to Francis Marion University for a Peach Belt Conference match.
