Donald “Dinkum” Barnett, 76 of Montevallo passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Barnett; daughters, Diane B. Roper (Grady), Knoxville, Tenn., Donna R. Serrano (Jorge), Montevallo; brother, Buddy Barnett, Chelsea; grandchildren, Robert Greg Roper (Regina), David E. Polk, Dana M. Serrano (Enrique), Devin M. Caldwell and Lupe Serrano; and one great-grandchild, Jose Serrano. Dinkum was a roofing contractor for around 35 years. He owned and operated Barnett’s Trailer Park for approximately 30 years.

Visitation was held at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Wednesday evening, Oct. 19, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at Rockco’s Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Phillips and Rev. Leon Glass officiating. Music was provided by the Aldrich Assembly of God Choir with Donald Ray Bice as the soloist. Pallbearers were Mark Bice, Larry Bice, Terry Bice, Jeff Bice, Danny Bice and Randy Bice. Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo directed. Please share condolences online at Rockcofuneralhomes.com.
