James Fletcher Payne, age 95, a resident of Shelby, died on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Crocker officiating. Burial will follow at Nabors Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Payne is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mildred Payne. He is survived by his son, John Seale Payne (Polly); daughter, Rosemary Payne Watson (David E.); grandchildren, Lori Payne Nizam (Sami), James Rory Payne (Chryssa), Angel Watson Killian (Ted), Melissa Watson Rigdon (Chris) and Stephanie Watson Payne (Darrell); 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
