Pattie Merrell Brasher (Miss Pattie) left the darkness of earth for the light of heaven on Nov. 1, 2011. She is preceded in death by her father, James Walton Merrell; mother, Emma Davis Merrell; brother, Roland Douglas Merrell; an infant son; daughter-in-law, Martha Williams Brasher. She is survived by her husband of 58-and-a-half years, Howard Brasher; sons, David John Brasher (Chris), Eric Merrell Brasher (Jackie) and Neal Howard Brasher (Sarah); three brothers, James Mathis Merrell (Germaine), Jesse Howard Merrell and Lynn Davis Merrell (Sandra); grandchildren, Erica Michele Brasher, Samuel David Brasher, Daniel Jackson Brasher, Sophie Rachel Brasher and Elizabeth Dupree Brasher; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.

She loved her Lord and served Him throughout her life through Sunday school, GA’s, Mission Friends, Vacation Bible School, Mission Offerings, Card and Letter Ministries and many other ways of sharing the Gospel with others. She served the Lord in this life through physical pains and struggles, but now is worshiping Him in perfection. We look forward to that day when we see her again and worship and serve the Lord she taught us and so many others about.

The family will receive friends at the Bolton Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4. The funeral service will be at the Bolton Funeral Home Chapel in Columbiana at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5.
