James Ray Harris Sr., age 90, of Shelby passed away on Nov. 7, 2011. He was born on Aug. 16, 1921. He was a member of South Shelby Baptist Church. He was a 50-year Mason and a member of the South Shelby Masonic Lodge #140. He was also a member of the Local Sheet Metal union #48.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mavory Harris; 11 sisters and brothers; and grandson, Tim Robbins Sr. He is survived by his children, Sandra Hogeland (Clifford) of Elberta, James Ray Harris Jr. (Ann) of Moody and Glenda Carole Robbins (Doug) of Shelby; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his sweetheart, Kay Clower.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Thursday at noon at Jefferson Memorial and burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Tom Minor will be officiating over the services. Pallbearers will be his Masonic brothers. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
