Burglary, robbery suspects charged

INVERNESS – Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies have apprehended three suspects from a Nov. 18 burglary in Inverness.

The deputies responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence in the 10000 block of Chelsea Road. Sheriff’s deputies pursued the suspects from the area of the residence until the suspects abandoned their vehicle on U.S. 280 in Inverness and tried to escape on foot. Two of the suspects were apprehended after a short foot chase and the other was apprehended a short time later.

Elijah Glenn Boyd, 19, from Birmingham, has been formally charged with one count each of the following: burglary first degree, theft of property first degree, robbery first degree and unlawful imprisonment first degree. The bond amounts for his charges are $60,000, $30,000, $500,000 and $6,000 respectively for a total bond of $596,000. He remains in the Shelby County Jail.

Jarvis Montrez Key, 18, from Hoover, has been formally charged with one count each of the following: burglary first degree, theft of property first degree, robbery first degree and unlawful imprisonment first degree. The bond amounts for his charges are $60,000, $30,000, $500,000 and $6,000 respectively for a total bond of $596,000. He remains in the Shelby County Jail.

Alex Adetuakuambo Oyebade, 31, from Birmingham, has been formally charged with one count each of the following: burglary first degree, theft of property first degree, robbery first degree and unlawful imprisonment first degree. The bond amounts for his charges are $60,000, $30,000, $500,000 and $6,000 respectively for a total bond of $596,000. He remains in the Shelby County Jail.
