Snow possible for northern Shelby County tonight

Northern Shelby County may see light snow fall tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

“A strong upper level disturbance will move across north Alabama tonight allowing rain to mix with and gradually change over to snow from west to east tonight across north central Alabama,” the winter weather advisory read. “The greatest accumulations will be in northwest central Alabama. Precipitation will end Tuesday morning.”

The Shelby County cities most likely to be affected are as follows: Hoover, Columbiana, Pelham and Alabaster.

The weather advisory will be in effect from midnight tonight to 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
