The Spain Park High School girls’ basketball team edged Gadsden City 40-39 in high school basketball action Nov. 28.

Jessica Freeman led the Jaguars (4-4) with 17 points in the victory. Freeman finished 4-of-7 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, and hit 5-of-7 free throws.

Ashley Gaston added 10 points and three rebounds. Whitney Gulledge chipped in five points, two rebounds and two assists.

Jasmine Hollis and Victoria Baldwin finished with four points each. Hollis grabbed a team-high 16 rebounds, while Hollis finished with eight boards.
