Debra E. “Debbie” (Andrews) Talmadge

Greencastle, Pa.

Mrs. Debra E. “Debbie” (Andrews) Talmadge, 45, of Greencastle, Pa., passed away in her sleep on Tuesday morning, Nov. 29, 2011. Born Oct. 26, 1966 at Fort Hood, Texas, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary E. (Pearce) Andrews of Jacksonville. She had just celebrated the 16th anniversary of her 29th birthday.

Debbie graduated from Saks High School, Anniston, with the class of 1984. She later attended Jacksonville University and graduated from the University of Leeds in England.

She also received her master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She and her husband of more than 11 years, Steven L. Talmadge, were married on Nov. 11, 2000. Debbie was a devoted mother and wife.

She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Columbiana

United Methodist Church, Columbiana. She was currently attending services at First United Methodist Church, Greencastle. Debbie had a passion for horses since first riding at the age of 2 and enjoyed being an equestrian. She trained in England at Mrs. Wood’s Riding Academy and later received extensive training in Germany.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by one daughter, Filly E.

Talmadge at home; her sister, Sarah Byrd and her husband Wesley of Alexandria, Va.; her father and mother-in-law, R. Wilson Talmadge Jr. and Mary E. Talmadge of Maylene; her sister-in-law, Tracie A. Talmadge of Vestavia; three nieces, Justice E. Byrd, Mary E. Byrd and Joan E. Byrd; one nephew, John W. Byrd; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle, with Pastor Stacy Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Sunday evening, in the funeral home.
