Spain Park wrestlers finish fifth in Knoxville Invitational

The Spain Park High School wrestling team finished fifth overall with five medalists Dec. 3 in the Knoxville Catholic High School Invitational in Knoxville, Tenn.

Spain Park finished fifth with 151.5 points, which placed them behind Chattanooga Central Catholic (Tenn.), Hillgrove (Ga.), St. Benedict at Auburndale (Tenn.) and Lassiter (Ga.) in the Invitational.

Tommy Bostany, who has made a verbal commitment to wrestle at the University of Maryland, led the Jaguars after capturing the 120-pound championship.

Bostany finished with a pin, a technical fall and two major decisions in the Invitational.

Kameron Ricks, who had three pins, finished runner-up in the 195-pound division. Mo Mills, who had two pins and a major decision, finished runner-up in the 220-pound division.

Connor Whatley, who had three pins and a decision, came in fourth in the 138-pound division. Blake Daniel came in fifth in the 182-pound division with a pin and two decisions.
