The Calera High School wrestling team finished 11th in team standings Dec. 3 at the Gardendale Invitational.

Coby Mize led the Eagles as he captured the 160-pound championship in the Invitational.

Mize pinned Drew Addison of Hoover in 1:45 and pinned Chase Downer of Gardendale in 1:20, while also earning one victory by forfeit, in the 160-pound division.

Hunter Alexander, Jarrett Seiger, Cody Thomaston, Danny Diaz and Kevin Murry also won individual matches in the Invitational.

Alexander pinned Casey Brasher of Oak Grove in 1:15 and Aaron Vickers of Homewood in 4:40 in the 113-pound division. Seiger pinned Blake Jackson of Hayden in 1:10 in the 132-pound division.

Thomaston pinned Justin Wright of Shades Valley in 55 seconds in the 170-pound division. Diaz pinned Jacob Waldrop of Oak Grove in 1:55 in the 220-pound division. Murry pinned Jake Rakestraw of Thompson in 3:55 in the heavyweight division.
