The Briarwood Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated Tuscaloosa County in its opening game in the American Christian Holiday tournament Dec. 8.

Hannah Wainwright led the Lions (5-1) with 21 points in the victory.

Cara Medders added 17 points. Abbie Cutcliffe contributed 16 points in the win.

BOYS

The Briarwood Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Parrish 54-36 in its opening game in the American Christian Holiday tournament Dec. 8.

Jason Laatsch led the Lions (5-4) with 16 points in the victory.

Canon Smith contributed 12 points in the win.
