A pair of Spain Park High School football standouts helped the Alabama all-stars defeat Mississippi 31-12 in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic on Dec. 10 at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.

Spain Park defensive back Chris Humes, who currently has scholarship offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Louisville, UAB and South Alabama, assisted on a tackle for the Alabama squad late in the first quarter. The tackle inside the Alabama 5-yard line on third-and-goal kept the opponents of the end zone and forced the Mississippi squad to settle for a field goal, which temporarily tied the game at 3-3, instead of a touchdown.

Spain Park offensive lineman Ben Tamburello, who has verbally committed to play college football at Samford University, also played on the Alabama team.

Daphne running back T.J. Yeldon led the Alabama squad with three rushing touchdowns in the victory.
