Edward Eugene “Gene” Glasgow, 69 of Alabaster passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 surrounded by his family. Gene was born Friday, Feb. 27, 1942; he was the son of the late John Fletcher Glasgow and the late Edna Daily Glasgow.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Sillery and Nina Glasgow, and his brother, Buddy Glasgow. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Baker Glasgow; son, Steven Glasgow (Denette); daughters, Lori Holcomb (Chuck) and Krisli Sterling; sisters, Mary Alice Ray, Betty Carroll (Jim), Nellie Kiinstler (Robert), Sheral Pierce and Glenda Glasgow; grandchildren, Candi, Casey, Brittany, Blake, Matt and Brodie; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Gracie.

The family received friends at Charter Funeral Home on Dec. 13, 2011 from 6-8 p.m., and the graveside service was on Dec. 14, 2011 at Elliottsville Cemetery at 2 p.m. Online condolences can be made at Charterfuneral.com. Charter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
