Montevallo men’s soccer players named to all-region team

The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team was awarded two spots on the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division II men’s soccer All-Southeast Region teams.

Senior midfielder Tyson Eyo and sophomore goalkeeper Brendan Ledgeway were named second team All-Southeast Region. It is the first NSCAA selection for both Eyo and Ledgeway.

Eyo was named second team All-Peach Belt Conference this past season. Eyo ended the 2011 campaign tied for second on the team with four assists and sixth on the team with three goals. He has started all 21 games for the Falcons in the midfield and was one of the go-to players for free kicks for Montevallo.

Ledgeway was named first team All-Peach Belt Conference this past season. Ledgeway ended the season first in the conference with a 0.85 goals against average and second in the conference with 71 saves and a .798 save percentage. He had 11 shutouts this past season, which led the conference. Ledgeway also broke the Montevallo record for longest shutout streak midway through the season with 529 consecutive minutes of shutout soccer.
