William Alfred Benton, age 87, a resident of Columbiana, passed away at Columbiana Health and Rehabilitation on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Summerhill Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Bolton Funeral Home.

Mr. Benton is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Benton, and a daughter, Brenda Sue McKinney. Mr. Benton is survived by his son, Mike Benton (Sandra); grandchildren, Kerrie Lomas (Donnie), Michael Benton Jr., Mark Benton, Sherry Ray (John), Donna Hallmark (Bryan), Billie Young (Kelly); nine great-grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
