Panthers top Hewitt-Trussville in tournament opener

The Pelham High School boys’ basketball team defeated Hewitt-Trussville 56-41 in its opening game Dec. 29 in the Metro Independent tournament in Homewood.
Xavier Lacey led the Panthers (9-4) with 20 points in the victory.
