The Thompson High School boys’ basketball team defeated Pinson Valley 70-62 in high school basketball action Jan. 5.

Demarcus Threatt led the Warriors (14-5) with a game-high 23 points in the victory.

Threatt, who grabbed a team-high six rebounds, also dished out five assists and finished with five steals.

Jaylon Jones chipped in 11 points and five rebounds in the win.

GIRLS

The Thompson High School girls’ basketball team defeated Pinson Valley 76-45 in high school basketball action Jan. 5.

Katie Guiser led the Warriors (10-8) with a game-high 20 points in the victory. Guiser also pulled down 10 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

KaDeisha Stowes also registered a double-double with 19 points and a team-high 14 rebounds.

Kiarra Pettway chipped in 10 points in the win.
