Lightning top New Life Christian in conference game

The Evangel Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated New Life Christian 66-30 in an Alabama Christian Sports Conference contest Jan. 10.

Adam Gurley led the Lightning (12-0 overall, 10-0 in ACSC) with a game-high 17 points. Gurley also grabbed eight rebounds and finished with five steals.

Ben Smith added a double-double with 14 points and a team-high 17 rebounds in the win.

Andrew Smedley chipped in 13 points. DaJon Townson contributed 10 points.

GIRLS

The Evangel Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated New Life Christian 46-27 in an Alabama Christian Sports Conference contest Jan. 10.

Rainey Ketcham led the Lightning (8-1 overall, 6-0 in ACSC) with 16 points, including a 3-of-3 performance from beyond the arc, in the victory. Ketcham also registered nine rebounds, five assists and five steals in the win.

Lacey Entrekin added 15 points, including 13 points in the first half. Madison Thames pulled down seven rebounds in the win.
