Julius Lester Tate, age 91, a resident of Calera, died on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at Rock Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Ronny Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Mr. Tate is preceded in death by his wife, Ozell Tate, and a son, Ray Tate. He is survived by his children, Sam Tate (Renee), Steve Tate (Claudia), Phillip Tate (Debbra) and Wessie Frandsen (Wes); daughters-in-law, Billie Tate and Rachel Tate; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Brothers and Sis Williams; and other family and friends.
