The Thompson High School wrestling team defeated Spain Park 37-24 in a match Jan. 14 in the Grissom Duals.

Seven Warriors won individual matches against Spain Park.

Austin Gould of Thompson won his 113-pound match by forfeit. Reed Jacks of Thompson earned a 7-3 decision over Spain Park in the 120-pound match.

Mario Haynes of Thompson pinned Andres Galindo of Spain Park in the 126-pound match. Brewer Gilliland of Thompson pinned Connor Whatley of Spain Park in 1:49 in the 132-pound match.

Cody Albarado of Thompson pinned Leon Strong of Spain Park in 1:00 in the 138-pound match. Cahman Holder of Thompson earned a 14-6 major decision over Blake Daniel of Spain Park in the 170-pound match.

Jesse Masters of Thompson pinned Alex Potts of Spain Park in 37 seconds in the 182-pound match.

Six Spain Park wrestlers won individual matches against Thompson.

Elijah Krukowski of Spain Park earned a 6-4 decision over Jacob Megois of Thompson in the 106-pound match. Marcus Jackson of Spain Park earned a 13-8 decision over Gavin Green of Thompson in the 145-pound match.

Dillon Osborne of Spain Park earned a 11-3 major decision over Luke Moore of Thompson in the 152-pound match. Daniel earned a 11-3 major decision over Moore in the 160-pound match.

Kameron Ricks of Spain Park won his 195-pound match by forfeit. Mo Mills of Spain Park earned a 9-1 major decision over David Capers of Thompson in the 220-pound match.

Thompson also defeated Notre Dame (Tenn.), Benjamin Russell, Oxford, Bob Jones and host Grissom in the Duals.

The Warriors defeated Notre Dame (Tenn.), 46-15. Conner Gilson, Haynes, Gilliland, Albarado, John Austin (J.A.) Jones, Josh Gillaspie, Holder, Masters, Hunter Pinneo and Capers each won matches for Thompson.

Thompson defeated Benjamin Russell, 52-12. Gilson, Gould, Jacks, Haynes, Gilliland, Christopher Lloyd, Jones, Gillaspie, Nick Gentile, Masters and Capers each won individual matches for the Warriors.

The Warriors defeated Oxford 78-0. Gilson, Gould, Jacks, Haynes, Gilliland, Albarado, Nick Hall, Jones, Gillaspie, Holder Gentile, Masters and Capers each won individual matches for Thompson.

Thompson defeated Bob Jones, 56-13. Gilson, Jacks, Haynes, Gilliland, Albarado, Lloyd, Jones, Gillaspie, Holder, Masters and Pinneo each won individual matches for the Warriors.

Thompson defeated host Grissom 44-18. Gould, Jacks, Haynes, Gilliland, Albarado, Hall, Jones, Gillaspie, Holder and Masters each won individual matches for the Warriors.

Spain Park also defeated Buckhorn, Tuscaloosa County and Madison County in the Grissom Duals.

The Jaguars defeated Buckhorn, 50-24. Krukowski, Bostany, Galindo, Strong, Jackson, Kevin McClure, Daniel, Ricks and Mills each won individual matches for Spain Park.

Spain Park defeated Tuscaloosa County 55-19. Krukowski, Bostany, Whatley, Jackson, McClure, Daniel, Potts, Ricks, Mills and Zachary Williams each won individual matches for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars topped Madison County, 60-18. Krukowski, Bostany, Galindo, Strong, Osborne, McClure, Daniel, Potts, Ricks, Mills and Williams each won individual matches for the Jaguars.
