The Oak Mountain High School wrestling team defeated Thompson 45-18 in high school wrestling action Jan. 17.

Ten Eagles won individual matches against Thompson.

John David (J.D.) Peden of Oak Mountain pinned Jacob Megois of Thompson in the 106-pound match. Trigg Langner of Oak Mountain earned a 6-5 decision over Clay Anthony of Thompson in the 113-pound match.

Jared Godfrey of Oak Mountain pinned Tyler Lacey of Thompson in the 126-pound match. Stephen Chandler of Oak Mountain earned a 6-4 decision over Trey Watson of Thompson in the 132-pound match.

Angus McBee of Oak Mountain earned a 12-0 major decision over Hunter Gatlin of Thompson in the 138-pound match. Jacob Darty of Oak Mountain earned an 8-4 decision over Luke Moore of Thompson in the 152-pound match.

Vincent Kimbrough of Oak Mountain earned a 5-0 decision over Cahman Holder of Thompson in the 170-pound match. Evan Webb of Oak Mountain earned a 15-0 technical fall over Jacobi Dial of Thompson in the 182-pound match.

Justin Woodall of Oak Mountain pinned Nick Gentile of Thompson in the 195-pound match. Billy Dasher of Oak Mountain pinned Kolby Newton of Thompson in the heavyweight match.

Three Warriors won individual matches against Oak Mountain.

Reed Jacks of Thompson pinned Simon Loubser of Oak Mountain in the 120-pound match. Josh Gillaspie of Thompson pinned Sam Jasinski of Oak Mountain in the 160-pound match.

David Capers of Thompson earned a 3-2 decision over Lloyd Time of Oak Mountain in the 220-pound match.

The Eagles defeated Pelham 57-14 in a match Jan. 17. Eleven Oak Mountain wrestlers won individual matches against Pelham.

Peden earned a 15-5 major decision over Riley Pike of Pelham in the 106-pound match. Langner pinned Wade Thomas of Pelham in the 113-pound match.

Godrey earned a 16-0 technical fall over Furman Taylor of Pelham in the 126-pound match. McBee pinned Robby Brantley of Pelham in the 138-pound match.

Kimbrough pinned Nolan Vinson of Pelham in the 170-pound match. Webb earned a 6-4 decision over Tre Maynard of Pelham in the 182-pound match.

Woodall pinned John Brito-Cuevas of Pelham in the 195-pound match. Christopher Richmond of Oak Mountain earned a 8-2 decision over Chris Shiflett of Pelham in the 220-pound match.

Dasher pinned Nicholas Farren of Pelham in the heavyweight match. Darty won his 152-pound match by forfeit. Josh Gaines of Oak Mountain won his 160-pound match by forfeit.

Two Panthers earned victories against their Oak Mountain foes.

Stephen Janoulis of Pelham earned a 8-6 decision over Will Franklin of Oak Mountain in the 145-pound match. Giovanni Adan of Pelham pinned Stephen Chandler of Oak Mountain in the 132-pound match.

The Warriors defeated Pelham 73-6 in a match Jan. 17.

Thirteen Thompson wrestlers earned individual victories against the Panthers, including Megois, Anthony, Jacks, Lacey, Watson, Gatlin, Austin Wilhite, Clint Milligan, Justin Berry, Holder, Gentile, Capers and Newton.

Nathan Walsh of Pelham recorded the Panthers’ lone victory in the match after pinning Jacobi Dial of Thompson in the 182-pound match.
