The Spain Park High School girls’ basketball team defeated Vestavia Hills 52-29 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 12 contest Jan. 17.

Victoria Baldwin led the Jaguars (15-10 overall, 2-1 in Class 6A, Area 12) with 15 points in the victory. Baldwin also shared in leading the team with nine rebounds.

Jessica Freeman added 13 points. Kathryn Boswell chipped in 10 points in the win.

Whitney Gulledge contributed five points and three rebounds to go along with a team-high four assists. Jasmine Hollis posted four points and seven rebounds.

Ashley Gaston added three points. Takia Mickens finished with two points. Jasmine Moore grabbed nine rebounds.

BOYS

The Spain Park High School boys’ basketball team fell to Vestavia Hills 59-54 in double overtime in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 12 contest Jan. 17.

Eric Washington led the Jaguars (15-9 overall, 2-1 in Class 6A, Area 12) with 12 points.

Blake Dudchock and Robby Prater added 11 points each. Dudchock grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Prater dished out two assists.

Rembert Martin chipped in nine points and three rebounds. Deion Wright contributed five points and three boards.

Austin Jones finished with four points. Jonathon Troulias contributed two points.
