Pelham wrestlers top Walker on senior night

The Pelham High School wrestling team defeated Walker 48-36 on senior night Jan. 24.

Eight Panthers won individual matches against Walker.

Jacob Blackmon of Pelham pinned Jacob Runyan of Walker in 2:24 in the 126-pound match. Trey Smith of Pelham pinned Jordan Brown of Walker in 3:00 in the 152-pound match.

Antonio Montalvo of Pelham pinned Alex Vila of Walker in 3:14 in the 170-pound match. Seth Kelosky of Pelham pinned Rhome Sims of Walker in 1:39 in the 182-pound match.

Robert Welch of Pelham pinned Bryan Warda of Walker in 34 seconds in the 195-pound match. Chris Shiflett of Pelham pinned Dustin Kemble of Walker in 2:25 in the 220-pound match.

Nick English of Pelham won his 120-pound match by forfeit. Cody Wehunt of Pelham won his 160-pound match by forfeit.

Six Pelham wrestlers dropped matches against their Walker.

Chase Gospondareck of Pelham was pinned byThomas Mobley of Walker in the 106-pound match. Barrett Barnett of Pelham was pinned by Taran Naramore of Walker in 1:56 in the 113-pound match.

Keon Arnold of Pelham was pinned pinned by Taylor Pulliam of Walker in 1:23 in the 132-pound match. D.J. Chamberlin of Pelham was pinned by Carlton Dorrough of Walker in 1:10 in the 138-pound match.

Matthew Hampton of Pelham was pinned by Alex Lilley of Walker in 1:52 in the 145-pound match. Nicholas Seplow of Pelham was pinned by Cru Birdyshaw of Walker in 30 seconds in the heavyweight match.
