Warriors top Eagles in wrestling match

The Thompson High School wrestling team defeated Calera 66-16 in a high school wrestling match Jan. 24.

Eleven Warriors won individual matches against Calera.

Jacob Megois of Thompson pinned Hunter Alexander of Thompson in 3:00 in the 106-pound match. Brandon Belser of Thompson pinned Keenan Agee of Calera in 3:00 in the 120-pound match.

Nick Gillaspie of Thompson pinned Shawn O’Neill of Calera in 3:00 in the 145-pound match. Shane Evans of Thompson pinned Jaylin Washington of Calera in 1:00 in the 170-pound match.

Hunter Pinneo of Thompson pinned Braxton Stokes of Calera in 1:00 in the 220-pound match. Clay Anthony of Thompson won his 113-pound match by forfeit.

Jaden Hunter of Thompson won his 126-pound match by forfeit. Trey Watson of Thompson won his 132-pound match by forfeit. Hunter Gatlin of Thompson won his 138-pound match by forfeit.

Jacobi Dial of Thompson won his 182-pound match by forfeit. Mike Thomas of Thompson won his 195-pound match by forfeit.

Three Eagles won individual matches against Thompson.

Cody Thomaston of Calera earned a 13-4 major decision over Jackson Adelberg of Thompson in the 152-pound match. Coby Mize of Calera pinned Luke Moore of Thompson in 1:30 in the 160-pound match.

Danny Diaz of Calera pinned Kolby Newton of Thompson in 5:00 in the heavyweight match.
