The Evangel Christian School girls’ basketball team clinched the Alabama Christian Sports Conference regular-season championship Jan. 27 following a 44-30 win over Evangel Family Christian Academy.

Rainey Ketcham led the Lightning (12-1 overall, 9-0 in ACSC) with 17 points in the victory. Ketcham, who dished out four assists, added 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Lacey Entrekin added eight points and a team-high 15 rebounds in the win. Whitney Thorpe grabbed 11 rebounds.

BOYS

The Evangel Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Evangel Family Christian Academy 89-70 to remain undefeated in Alabama Christian Sports Conference action Jan. 27.

DaJon Townson led the Lightning (17-0 overall, 14-0 in ACSC) with a game-high 31 points in the victory.

Adam Gurley added 25 points. Andrew Smedley chipped in 17 points in the win.
