The Calera High School boys’ basketball team defeated Thompson 78-70 in high school basketball action Feb. 3.

Deondre Haynes led the Eagles (21-6) with a game-high 30 points in the victory, including a 10-of-10 performance from the free-throw line.

Titus Adams added 17 points. Ronnie Clark chipped in 15 points in the win.

Jeremy Hyde contributed eight points. Sam Adams finished with four points.

De’Andre Shanks and Jordan Bishop finished with two points each in the victory.

Demarcus Threatt led Thompson (19-8) with 24 points, including 15 points in the second half.

De’Andre Gamble added 13 points. Marcus Lewis chipped in eight points.

Kenny Nabors, Jaalen Jones and Caleb Johnson contributed seven points each. Jaylon Jones finished with four points.
